6 amazing foods that fight fat

You’ll often read that the only way to lose weight is by eating fewer calories. Well, although this is true, you still need to make sure those calories are coming from healthy food.

Everyone knows that eating salads, fruit and protein is the ultimate option when it comes to choosing what to include in your diet, but there are also certain ingredients that can help fight fat, and fast!

Here’s my list of 6 amazing foods to include in your diet today, and help fight the fat and shed those pounds quicker…

Clucking turkey

Sliced turkey Adding turkey to your diet is a great way to help shed those pounds. For a start, turkey has lower calories per ounce of all the animal proteins. Like dairy, it also contains leucine which is an amino acid. Leucine helps preserve muscle mass whilst you lose weight, and in turn helps to keep your metabolism burning away the fat.

Protein also does a great job of fighting those hunger pangs, so you are less likely to dive into the snack bars and ruin all your hard work!

Because I’m extremely motivated to keep you readers smiling, here’s my rhyme of the day –

‘Protein is a great way, to keep hunger at bay!’

Now that you are amazed at my genius, here’s the next thing on the list…

Are you nuts?

Peanuts in bowlPeanuts are surprisingly a great addition to your diet if you’re looking to drop those pounds quickly. Not only do peanuts slow the rise in blood sugar, but they also curb hunger. Peanuts have been linked with a drop in triglycerides, which are blood fats associated with causing heart disease.

Elephants love to eat peanuts, and they apparently have great memories. So without carrying out any scientific research, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that not only will peanuts help you lose weight, but they’ll also make you into a super computer.

So you’d be nuts not to add them to your diet! Did you see what I did there? You’d be nuts not to add them… nuts… oh forget it!

Low-fat yoghurt

Berries in yoghurtMost of you will already know that yoghurt can be a healthy addition to your diet, but it’s important to remember to choose the right yoghurt. Plain, low-fat yoghurt is the best option, and can be included as a dessert or snack during the day.

Yoghurt is a fantastic source of calcium, which is needed to help prevent our bodies from storing fat. A lack of calcium can cause a release of calcitriol, which causes the fat to store in our bodies. So it’s important to have a good daily intake of calcium to help burn fat more effectively.

Cereal – fibre

Bran flakesLike yoghurt, there are hundreds of different cereals to choose from, and some of them can hinder your diet. However, certain cereals that are high in fibre are a great healthy option. So choose your cereals wisely, and stay away from the tempting chocolatey options.

Also, if you are prone to eating a full English breakfast, then replacing the fatty sausages and bacon will instantly reduce your calories and leave you feeling just as full.

Enova oil

Oil in bowlEnova oil is made from soy and canola oils. To get all scientific and fancy, the oil is made of diglycerides; a type of fat which metabolises differently to triglycerides found in other more common oils. This means that the fat doesn’t store as easily as it would when compared to other oils, making it a contender in my list.

Various studies have been carried out over the last few years which indicate that people using Enova oil lost more weight in comparison with people using more common oils. These studies aren’t always accurate, but hey, why not give it a go and see for your self!

Chuck Berry

Berries and creamOK, so I don’t mean the amazing rock ‘n’ roll guitarist, and I am of course talking about raspberries. A great source of fibre, berries should be added to your diet and can substitute ice cream or chocolate as a healthy snack or dessert. Blueberries and blackberries are also high in fibre, so feel free to experiment and add a little variety to your diet.

Be good Johnny, and ditch the Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough for a healthier option, like a berry cheesecake. Here’s a great recipe I found to get you started – click here.
